Multiple subsets of neurons show distinct somato-dendritic immunoreactivity throughout the brain. These includes: subsets of granular- and glomerular layer neurons in the olfactory bulb, layer IV. (and, less intensely, layer II. and VI. neurons) in the neocortex, caudate putamen, lateral septum and BNST neurons, multiple but distinct thalamic nuclei, amygdala, subsets of hypothalamic neurons, gyrus dentate polymorph layer neurons, a subset of cornu ammonis neurons in the hippocampus, multiple distinct brainstem nuclei and regions (like parabrachial region nuclei, colliculus superior, external parts of the medial geniculate nucleus, PAG, nucleus tractus solitariii etc).
