Nuclear bodies

Nuclear bodies is a collective term for several non-membrane bound nuclear sub-compartment including: Cajal bodies (CB), Gemini of Cajal bodies (gems) and promyelocytic leukemia bodies (PML). CB are involved in RNA splicing whereas PML bodies are thought to perform a multitude of tasks including apoptosis regulation.

Immunofluorescent staining

Nuclear bodies are visible as distinct spots in the nucleoplasm. They can vary in number and size depending on the cell line.
